Headphones are one of the most interesting thing men have invented in order to keep the privacy. It is a way to respect someone’s boundary. The use headphones allows people to listen to their music, watch the movies they want to and play videogames without disrespecting the “public order”.
It is also pretty useful when you are traveling by car and the radio station is not tuning: all you have to do is get you disc man, plug your headphones and listen to your music. You don’t have to go all the way waiting for some radio station to tune in.
Headphones can also be your best friend when you are at home, everybody is sleeping but you just can’t fall sleep. So, you decide to turn the computer on. You want to check some e-mail and maybe have a voice chat. It would not be interesting for everybody who is sleeping. The alternative you have is to connect the headphones to your computer and have fun until you feel sleepy.

Headphones can help you on your phone calls in case you use a cell phone. If you are at work and you have many things to do and there are phone calls for you to make, you can use headphones connected to you mobile phone and keep your hands free while you walk around the office, sign documents and get whatever you may need.
Using headphones connected to cell phones has also been found in cars. Drivers have done that in order to talk on the phone and drive, keeping their hands on the steering wheel. Although this may take the attention from what is happening in the car traffic, the drivers do not run the risk of dropping the cell phone and getting focus on this.
In addition to that, headphones are also used by people who work with private security. These people have to keep their moves in private, so they use headphones to communicate with each other and don’t have their dialogue listened.
